The Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, which opened on 4 March, celebrated its 25th anniversary with a new fair record - a whopping 2,306 exhibitors from 45 countries and regions. These included first-time exhibitors from Cambodia, Egypt, Lebanon, Kuwait and Mexico. It was a good start for the world’s third-largest jewellery fair, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The show saw 22 pavilions, including country pavilions. Among them were those from the Chinese mainland, Dubai, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Spain, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the US. International associations such as the Antwerp World Diamond Centre and the International Coloured Gemstone Association also had their own pavilions.

Visitors were greeted with seven special zones showcasing jewellery - Treasures of Nature, Le Salon Extraordinaire, Les Salons Privés, Watch and Clock Pavilion, Designer Jewellery Galleria, and Antique and Vintage Jewellery and Jade Jewellery. Market seminars and jewellery auctions highlighted the latest product and market trends in the industry, while winning pieces of the 9th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition were displayed to showcase innovative designers to buyers.

Edipresse Solitaire and PRO Jeweller made its presence felt with a booth and a strong team to seek out the latest B2B trends, and were glad to receive much support from advertisers and clients.

The next show will again be held from 4 to 8 March 2009 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
